Sustainable Upbringing Impact
A matrix of fundamental skills that aid parents in positively fulfilling their duties
About
Effective Parenting
Effective parenting refers to the set of interactions, behaviors, emotions, and developmental patterns that fulfill children's needs in life and promote their positive development, while also addressing challenges and obstacles. This requires acquiring a range of skills and techniques to enhance child-rearing and caregiving methods, and ultimately create a supportive and nurturing environment for children.
Effective parenting requires a set of fundamental skills that enable parents and caregivers to fulfill their responsibilities in raising and caring for their children across all dimensions, including health, psychology, and social well-being. The most crucial skills involve building positive relationships with children, providing support, encouragement, and empathy, and guiding their behavior to develop responsibility and collaboration with others. Through effective parenting, children can acquire skills of independence, self-esteem, and moral judgement.

The Family Affairs Council launches the "Effective Parenting" campaign
The Family Affairs Council has launched an awareness campaign called "Effective Parenting" as part of the National Family Strategy. The campaign is designed to enhance parents' understanding of constructive educational concepts and promote a sustainable educational impact.
This campaign is supervised by the Childhood Committee of the council, and it aims to raise awareness about children's early development and provide parents with tools to meet their psychological needs. The campaign emphasizes the importance of providing social protection and positive interaction within the family environment to build connected and stable families.
The campaign utilizes both traditional and digital media, with the collaboration of various governmental, private, and non-profit entities. It includes a cartoon series, an awareness film, and diverse educational and interactive content to be released over 5 weeks through official social media accounts.
The Secretary-General of the Family Affairs Council, Dr. Maimouna bint Khalil Al Khalil, explained that the Effective Parenting campaign is one of 9 awareness campaigns sponsored by the National Family Strategy. She also announced the upcoming launch of an electronic platform called "Effective Parenting" that will be a permanent reference and offer direct communication with the public 24 hours a day. The campaign reflects the council's continuous efforts to empower families and raise their awareness to enhance their role in the sustainable development process of Saudi society, which is aligned with the targets of Vision 2030.
